QuickBooks → BizVisualizer (Start Here)
BizVisualizer (BV) needs two things from QuickBooks:
- Balance Sheet (BS) by Month
- Profit & Loss (P&L) Totals by Month
Optional (recommended if you use Classes in QuickBooks):
- Profit & Loss by Class (export one file per Class)
Step 1: Export reports from QuickBooks
Choose your version of QuickBooks:
QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT)
First-time setup (create + memorize reports):
- Create & export Balance Sheet (QBDT)
- Create & export Profit & Loss Totals (QBDT)
- (Optional...) Create & export Profit & Loss by Class (QBDT)
Monthly update:
Organizing for faster monthly updates:
QuickBooks Online (QBO)
First-time setup (create + save reports):
- Create & export Balance Sheet (QBO)
- Create & export Profit & Loss Totals (QBO)
- (Optional...) Create & export Profit & Loss by Class (QBO)
One-time fix (QBO Balance Sheet only): (Required!)

Step 2: Upload to BizVisualizer

If this is your first upload, BizVisualizer will prompt you to categorize accounts (and optionally enter monthly headcount). After the first time, you’ll typically only categorize new accounts and enter headcount for new months.
